East Greenland is one of the few places left in Greenland where you can still experience "The Real Greenland". The culture is still strong here where life follows the heartbeat of nature.
These trips, based out of Ammassalik on the east coast, provide you the unique opportunity to visit one of Greenland's most dramatic coastlines and gives you the chance to undertake a journey through sea ice and icebergs by kayak. After 12 expeditions to this area - our local knowledge gives you the best chance to make the most of your time and see the best hidden and remote sections of the coast.
During our journey we will discover long abandoned Inuit settlements and hunt camps and get the chance to really soak up and appreciate the culture and history of this very remote and special area. This is the home of the sea kayak and area where Gino Watkins explored and mapped back in the 1930's.
Rugged mountains, glaciers and the immense inland ice cap provide a truly breathtaking backdrop to our kayaking experience.
This is one of the most spectacular paddling venues its possible to find, a kayaking trip you really have to experience and one you will never forget.
Our pace is set to give us time to explore and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed.
Once you have paddled here, you will want to come back and explore further - many folk have - its a fantastic area to paddle in.
The trip includes flights from Iceland to Greenland, BCU qualified
and experienced coaches, local logistics and transfers in Greenland
and top quality kayak equipment from NDK / Lendal , Reed, Rockpool and Valley kayaks.
